Rogers' coach says Tigers getting a high-character guy

by TigerNet Staff - 12 months ago

Player Photo According to the Shelby Star, Crest High defensive standout Dane Rogers who committed to Clemson on Tuesday reminds his high school coach, Mark Barnes, of several high profile recruits from last cycle.

“The thing about Dane,” said Barnes, “is just like Rhaheim (Ledbetter) and Jonathan (Bullard), he’s a low-maintenance, high-character guy. He’s someone who always does the right thing, and colleges are looking for those kind of people right now.”

Barnes also said that Rogers will be a very versatile athlete for the Tigers.

“He’s flexible position-wise,” said Barnes. “Whether he plays defensive end or moves inside. They like his size because with his wide base and shoulders, when they get to college they are able to get players to get bigger, and he could work out at either spot.”
