Brown asks out of Clemson commitment
by TigerNet Staff - 10 months ago
According to the Register-Herald, Clemson signee Josh Brown will be attending Marshall not Clemson this fall.
Brown, who signed with ACC power Clemson in February, will not qualify academically for the Tigers. Rather than continue to take high school-level courses this summer, Brown has decided to ask out of his commitment to Clemson.
Instead, he intends to report to Marshall next month.
As a Prop 48, Brown (6-foot-5, 280 pounds) would not be able to play this fall. However, he can arrive on campus as early as Aug. 5 if Clemson grants his release soon.
As of Friday, the school had not granted the release.
If Clemson does not make a decision soon, Brown will not be able to enroll at Marshall until Aug. 20, the first day of classes.
