If you go to the below NASA press release link and scroll down, you can find the Mars Perseverance EDL on-board video that was posted about 2 hours ago. NASA started a press conference at 2pm EST on NASA TV in which they unveiled and discussed this new video. They are currently in Q&A. Replay of this press conference will probably be linked to the same website later. Look on the left hand side of the page.

Are you referring to the sky crane? Maybe(?) NASA did keep the sky crane camera rolling and haven't posted it yet? I think that it chooses the safest direction to go and hauls @$$ in that direction until it runs out of fuel. I think(?) that I heard that it crashed about 700 meters away?

1/4 of our military's budget should be given to NASA.

We should continue to fund NASA well, if for no other reason

than, eventually, the way we human beans are screwing up this world, we are going to have to find another one to screw up. Now, I expect that time will be way past my lifetime, but we are on the track.

I can't speak for China, but we Americans have some of the toughest environmental standards to meet.
At least we are releasing balloons.

That would be a 8x budget increase for NASA!

1/4 of military yearly budget is about 180 billion. NASA yearly budget is 23 billion. That would be a 180/23 equals approximately 8x budget increase for NASA. NASA actually had a big ole budget like that during the Apollo moon missions. The first thing that the present NASA Administrator would say if you told him that his budget would be increased 8x would be "Holy Crap!"
I met the present acting NASA administrator a handful of times when he worked for NASA/Langley Research Center (LaRC). While there, he rose to Center Director. He's a good person. The current NASA/LaRC Center Director is Clayton Turner. I met him several times too. Previous to being Center Director, he was the center chief engineer. He is a fantastic person. He is technically very sharp, a great leader, and a great project manager. I sat next to him (coach class) on a short airplane flight once from Atlanta to Newport News, VA. If Biden wanted specifically to appoint a black person to be the NASA Administrator, I think that Clayton would be a good choice because he definitely has the right stuff.

that this Covid has for sure done, it is that it has forever killed any remote chance there ever was of balancing the Federal Budget or paying off the National Debt.

NASA's budget is 0.5% of the total federal budget. If you consider NASA's technology transfer positive economic impact, NASA very well may be returning their whole budget back to the economy. I'm sure that the development of Perseverance has/will spawn even more NASA technology transfer. In addition, the scientific discoveries made on Mars by Perseverance over the planned 2 earth year mission life could save our civilization in the future. I will bet you BIG money that Perseverance will at least double it's planned mission life like EVERY other NASA Mars rover has done. Here is just one example where the NASA development cost of a technology was GREATLY overshadowed by its positive economic impact (and increased aviation safety). This NASA technology saves commercial airliners about 100,000 gallons of fuel per year per plane. While at this site, you can educate yourself about MANY more NASA spinoff technologies.

That’s all well and good, but does absolutely nothing to help alleviate the devastating and growing income inequality in this country. Spending good money sending crap to another planet when you could give it to those who really need it right here on Earth, shows an incredible lack of empathy and really screwed up priorities. Hopefully, the Biden Administration will fix this.
